TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY SENSITIZES STAFF ON FCSSIP25

The Federal Ministry of Transportation recently in Abuja, organized a One Day sensitization workshop on the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP25), for Directorate Level Officers and Officers on Grade Level 14 and below for enhancement effective Service delivery.

In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation/ Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, stated that the workshop was critical to career growth of Civil Servants, especially as it relates to the ongoing reforms in the Federal Civil Service.

Ajani, who was represented by the Director Human Resources Management in the Ministry, Dafeta Tetshoma said that the new Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021 – 2025, is to propel the attainment of a productive New Civil Service and World – Class Civil Service for accelerated national developments.

According to her, Implementation of the initiatives itemized in the plan will galvanize the Service to a greater heights.

On her part, the Deputy Director, Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, who is also the coordinator of the program, Adeniyi Courage, said the Reform seeks to achieve a new phase of Civil Service, where the practice of analogue Civil Service will be faced out, for a digital service.

She explained that FCSSIP25 would enable every Civil Servant to have a schedule and be assessed based on the new form of Performance Management.

Speaking at the event, the Resource Person, Vera Azoro, from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, stated that the ongoing reform in the Cvil Service which FCSSIP 25 was a part of, was approved in December 2021, and was launched on 23rd June 2022 during the Federal Civil Service Week, , as a blue print geared towards achieving a globally accepted Civil Service.

Furthermore, Azoro opined that most of the questions now in Civil Service promotion exam is from FCSSIP25.

Four presentations were made by eminent Resource Persons at the event. These are: An Overview of FCSSIP 2021 – 25, which was delivered by Mrs. Vera Azoro, Culture Change Video by Hajara Idris, while A.M.P.L.E Core values was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Kogbe and Innovation was handled by Engr. Uche Kene Okoye.

In her closing remarks, the Director Special Duties, Vivian Nwosu reiterated that the gains of the training cannot be over emphasized and enjoined Staff to put more effort in subsequent trainings while thanking the Resource Persons and the organizers for a job well done.
