AWWAL, M. S.

Awwal, M. S. was born 15th May, 1962 in Kano, Kano State and completed his primary education in Gidan Makama Special Primary School in 1977. He attended Government Secondary School, Kano from 1977 to 1982.  He bagged a B.Sc. in Sociology from University of Sokoto, Sokoto State. He also obtained a PGDIM in International Management Institute, India in 1998. He is a proud Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria.

Awwal, joined the Federal Civil Service in 1991 on GL. 08 and rose through the ranks to become a Director in 2018. In the course of his career, he has worked in the following offices:

i. 2019 (Dec.) - Federal Ministry of Transportation – till date
ii. 2019 (June) -Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy
iii. 2015 - Ecological Fund Office
iv. 2013 - Ministry of Police Affairs
v. 2011 - Ministry of Justice
vi. 2005 - Ministry of Aviation
vii. 2002 - Ministry of Transportation
viii. 1999 - Office of Head of Service of the Federation
ix. 1991 - Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (GSO)

He has also attended many course in capacity building which has not only sharpened his intellect but has also improved his productivity; notable amongst them are:

In 1996, he received a commendation letter from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, having served as member of the Committee that updated the Presidency Staff List and successfully completed the Federal Character Commission forms. In 2002 - 2003, he also served as Secretary, Marine Board of Investigation into the sinking/ fire incident of nine vessels along the High Waters of Lagos, Port Harcourt and Calabar. Similarly, he served as Secretary, Presidency Housing and Office Allocation Committee in conjunction with Federal Capital Development Authority Task Force on Housing. He was also, Assistant Secretary, Investigation into the Religious Crisis in Jos.

He is happily married with children.
