The Department has the following mandates:
i. Handles of matters relating to Appointment, Promotion, Discipline, Manpower Budget Preparation and Defence, IPPIS HR Module, Records and Documentation, Variation, Nominal Roll and Internal Postings.
ii. It also handles Staff Welfare and Training matters such as Sporting activities, NHIS, Unions (Staff Associations), Pension Scheme and Retirement for all categories of Staff as well as capacity building for all categories of Staff amongst others.
