PHOTO NEWS HANDING OVER CEREMONY OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TRANSPORTATION NIGERIA

Following the handing over ceremony of Federal University of Transportation Nigeria (Phase 1), the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali paid an eight (8) days visit on due diligence/factory inspection to the China Railway Signaling and Telecommunication CRSC (Sub-contractor to MOTA ENGIL for the supply and installation of signaling equipment for the Kano-Maradi -Dutse Railway) and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd (Original Equipment Manufacturer of the Telecommunication part of the aforementioned project).
The visit, which took place from 18-24th May 2024 in the People’s Republic of China, includes as follows:

  • The tour of the CRSC HQ, Laboratories, and Factories:
  • Huawei HQ and Equipment Manufacturing Facilities;
  • Workshop Programmes; and
    Technical meetings.

The Honourable Minister of Transportation also used the opportunity provided by the visit to solicit for the Companies’ support to assist Nigeria with regards to the infrastructural & academic development, training opportunities and provision of latest technical equipment as part of social responsibility towards the development/technology transfer as contained in the contract agreement.

In addition, the Honourable Minister paid a courtesy visit to Sensur, one of the financier of Kano-Kaduna Railway Project, requesting for the quick release of the loan intended for the construction of the Railway Project and the visit has yielded a successful result.

Finally, the Minister visited the top Executive Members of CRCC/CCECC to show his appreciation for the Chairman’s presence in the handing-over ceremony and further solicited for continuous support towards the completion of the Phase 2 of the construction of the University and also equip the school with more latest equipment for learning.
