SAFETY OF AIRPORTS AND PASSENGERS, FG PRIORITY

The Federal Government has said it will continue to intensify focus on the safety, comfort and security of the airports across the country and that of the passengers.
The Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka said this in his office when a delegation from Airfrance KLM led by Jean-Raoul Tauzin, the General Manager in charge of the English speaking West Africa Countries, Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, paid him a courtesy visit.
Chidoka added that it was important that the bilateral relationship that exists between Nigeria and France be strengthened promising that the Commercial Agreement Review will be done between now and March 2015.
The Minister however enjoined the management of Airfrance KLM to continue to take care of Nigeria passengers, use more Nigeria Crews, and pilots so as to add value to both countries. He further said that Nigeria will harness all available opportunities to increase Nigeria GDP.
Chidoka said he was looking forward to greater developmental cooperation between Nigeria and france in the aviation sector as the sector is one of the economic asset of the country. He said his door was opened to the management of Airfrance KLM anytime to enhance the sector.
Earlier, while the leader of the Airfrance KLM was congratulating the minister on his appointment and opportunity giving to them for this visit, he said they were ready to extend their expertise to Nigeria. He said that a team of expert would be coming into Nigeria soon to build the capacity of some pilot in the country.
He further appreciated the ministry for the assistance they have gotten so far from the ministry.
Jean-Raoul Tauzin also congratulated Nigeria on the retention of the Category 1 status and said that it was a proof of global acceptance of the Nigeria Aviation sector. He said this achievement is as a result of the radical transformational reforms in the aviation secctor by Goodluck Jonathan’s government.
